OINP Streams
The multiple streams under OINP attract thousands of applications from skilled workers, international students, and entrepreneurs. Here is a breakdown of OINP streams:
1. Employer Job Offer Category
This category is for applicants who have a valid job offer from an Ontario employer in a skilled occupation. It has three streams:
- Foreign Worker Stream
For skilled workers with a full-time, permanent job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3. Also, this Requires 2 years of work experience in the occupation.
- International Student Stream
Meant for recent graduates of a Canadian institution with a job offer in Ontario. Moreover, no prior work experience is required.
- In-Demand Skills Stream
This is meant for workers with job offers in in-demand occupations in healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing. Additionally, you must have 9 months of work experience in Ontario.
2. Human Capital Category
This category is for highly skilled workers and recent graduates. It includes two subcategories:
A. Ontario Express Entry Streams (Linked to Federal Express Entry)
Applicants must have an active Express Entry profile. The streams are:
- Human Capital Priorities Stream
- Targets skilled workers in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupations.
- No job offer is required, but a high CRS score is needed.
- Ontario occasionally holds targeted draws for Tech and Healthcare occupations.
- French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
- This is for bilingual candidates (French & English) in Express Entry.
- No job offer is required.
- Skilled Trades Stream
- For workers in skilled trades (TEER 2 & 3) under the Ontario Construction and Industrial Sectors.
- Requires 1 year of work experience in Ontario.
B. Masters & PhD Graduate Streams (No Job Offer Required)
For international graduates from Ontario universities:
- Masters Graduate Stream
- Must have completed a Master's degree from an eligible Ontario institution.
- No job offer is required.
- PhD Graduate Stream
- No job offer required.
- For those who have completed a PhD from an Ontario university.
3. Business Category
This category is for entrepreneurs planning to establish a business in Ontario.
- Entrepreneur Stream
- It requires a minimum investment of CAD 200,000 - CAD 600,000, depending on location and industry.
- Applicants must actively manage the business and create jobs in Ontario.

How to apply to OINP?
Through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs can apply for Canadian permanent residency under the provincial nominee program. The process can vary depending on your selected stream. Here's how the process works:
1. Check if you are Eligible
Ontario is known to offer multiple immigration streams under the Employer Job Offer Category, Human Capital Category, and Business Category. Each category has a different eligibility criteria. Interested applicants must first get their profile evaluated by an experienced PR expert to know which stream suits them best.
2. Register an Expression of Interest (EOI) or Get an NOI
If you are applying for an employer job, offer stream or graduate stream, you should initially register an Expression of Interest (EOI) in the OINP e-Filling Portal. However, if you are applying under the Express Entry stream, you need to create an Express Entry Profile on the IRCC website.
3. Receive an Invitation to Apply
If you are fortunate enough to get a high EOI score, you'll simply receive an invitation to apply (ITA) from Ontario. If you receive a notification of interest (NOI) through Express Entry, you'll get 45 days to apply to OINP.
4. Submission of Application & Gather documents

OINP Processing Times
Typically, OINP applications can take up to 30 to 90 days. However, they can differ on the basis of their stream. Additionally, Express entry-linked streams would process faster, while streams like Entrepreneur Stream may take longer. After nomination, IRCC takes up to 6 to 12 months to process permanent residency applications.

Recently, the OINP latest draw took place on January 15, 2025. In this round, a total of 4 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued under the OINP Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream. The CRS score requirement for this draw was not specified.
