GRE scores remain valid for 5 years from the test date. During this period you can use your scores to apply to graduate programs or for any other purpose that requires GRE results. ETS maintains your score records and lets you send them to institutions throughout this validity period. Once the five-year period expires, the score is no longer valid.
There are no specific eligibility requirements for taking the GRE — the test is open to individuals from all academic backgrounds. However, universities and programs set their own admission criteria, such as a minimum GPA, required undergraduate coursework and English language proficiency requirements.
