Big news for anyone looking at New Zealand immigration from India! From 8 December 2025, the country will open two new seasonal visas for aspiring applicants and securing a New Zealand PR is now easier.

What Are These Two New Visas for Seasonal Jobs?

1. Global Workforce Seasonal Visa (GWSV)

This is meant for skilled seasonal workers and it is valid for up to 3 years. For this visa, the candidate must have completed at least 3 seasons in the past 6 years. Also, no English test is required. Common roles include winemakers, ski instructors, agricultural technicians, and more.

2. Peak Seasonal Visa (PSV)

This visa is meant for those interested in seasonal work and it is valid for 7 months. For this, you need at least one season’s experience in the past 3 years, plus health insurance. Common roles include seafood workers, calf rearers, forestry staff, and meat processing roles.

Both these visas are only for genuine seasonal demand.

New Zealand is taking major steps to make PR easier!

If you have been on a New Zealand visa for 2+ years, then you may now get a Permanent Resident visa with no expiration date! This means the country is all set to make it effortless for candidates to live, work, and study in New Zealand forever. Additionally, you can travel in and out freely.

But please note that to qualify, you must show commitment to New Zealand. For instance, you must have lived in the country for at least 184 days each year for 2 years, own a business, have a close family, hold tax residency and more. Also, the process is online and costs from NZD 315, and is usually done in 3 weeks.
